Hello again from AKE! Hope Everyone enjoyed their last bit of this fun yet warm summer. August was a very busy month at the farm. We have more horses in training than ever before so there is always something to be done. All the horses are happy and healthy and we have have multiple for sale so if you or someone you know is looknig, check out the sales page on the website! The one show that we attended this month was Kentucky Classique. Though the weekend was not successful for all, it was a team effort to keep it running smoothly and in the end, everyone was safe and happy! We look forward to the shows coming up including Flying Cross next weekend and then Plantation the weekend after where Allie will be riding Sounder in the CIC 3*, Jordan in his first 2*, and Komik in the 1*.

Along with Classique being the only event in August, it was also Haley’s last event grooming for Allie. As many of you know, Haley is moving back to Oregon to become a full time nanny and be closer to family. She has offered her hard work and devotion as a working student for the past eight years between Kentucky and Oregon, but she has made a special place in our hearts here and will be greatly missed. She has shown every working student who has come into this family the kind of knowledge, determination, and self discipline required for such a job. She is a friend to all and AKE wouldn’t be what it is today without her. She is truely a building block towards what this buisness has become. We wish her the very best in her new adventure. We miss her already and can’t wait for her to come back and visit!

On a brighter note, the fall show season is coming up and Allie is very excited for the events to come! In addition to Flying Cross and Plantation, there are a few local shows along with some FEI events which include Fair Hill and Virginia Horse Trials. The upper level horses are going great and only becoming more confident in their sport. They will be very good compeitiors and hopefully come out on top! Its crazy to think that we are already in September, but AKE is going to end the season with great weekends and hoepfully bring home some blues!
